"Caregiver Training: Tips and Techniques/Panel Presentation"
On April 14th, Pam Cushenan provides a review of patients with Intellectual and Developmental Disability and how practitioners can better provide oral care for these special patients. Preparation strategy for the initial evaluation through assessment tools, consideration of the patient’s abilities and habits, implementation of oral care, and product recommendations will be reviewed. Strategies and techniques for treatment will be examined. Oral assistive care plans for carers will be discussed. Increased successful special patient oral care interactions will benefit the special patient, their family and you, the practitioner.
